New Felted Purse in the Air

I got some awesome wool yarn that is super soft from my Mom. I'm going to make a felted bag I've wanted to try forever. I've never felted, so this will be fun! It's like a medium sized Messenger Bag. Very cute!! It's a free pattern so I'll post it when I'm done along with some pics. Hope you will all love it!

Cut Away T-Shirts

Cut Away T-shirts

What I did for this is print out a picture from online of a playboy bunny. (use any image)
Pin it to the shirt where you want it.
You then pin a piece of felt under the shirt in the area you put the part to cut out.
Then you sew though the paper, shirt and felt with a sewing machine or by hand.
Use short straight stitches.
When done sewing, tear away the paper.
Then cut out the part of the t-shirt that is in the middle of the pattern.

Be creative and have fun!! Enjoy!

Cardboard Journal by I Love to Craft

I've made a couple of these, I just love them!

Cardboard Journal

Materials:

1. 12x12 piece of thick cardboard
2. 12x12 piece of paper
3. Large flower
4. 12’ of ribbon
5. Any cardstock quote you like
6. At least 10 sheets of blank paper
7. Hole punch
8. Hot glue gun
9. Scissors

Directions:

1. Glue the 12x12 piece of paper onto the cardboard.
2. Trim off any excess.
3. Fold cardboard in half.
4. Fold the blank sheets of paper in half.
5. Punch a hold through all 10 sheets of paper and through your cardboard.
6. Thread your ribbon through the paper and cardboard and tie on the front with a bow.
7. Take your cardstock quote and glue it on the front of your journal.
8. Finally add your large flower to the front of your journal.

Crafting Idea's from the freebie's

If you've never checked this site out, try it out. I've been using it for almost a decade. Freecycle is people listing item's they have for free instead of throwing it away, then you can make arrangements to pick it up.

For example, last year I found someone who had a bunch of old wooden indoor shutter's. They are so cute! Because I live in the middle of no where, I asked a friend who was headed that way (50 miles away) to stop and pick them up. Worked great! I've met some wonderful people through here as well. Anyways, I turned the shutter's into display's for my earring's at craft shows. The little cards hook right on there. I've seen so many things on there over the years, it's a fun challenge to see what you can make out of someone else's junk. Good Luck!!

Size H hook

Yarn Needle

Closure of some type

Pattern:

Chain 35

Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook & in each across. DO NOT TURN!
Round 1-30: Hdc in each sc around for 30 rounds.
Fasten off and weave in ends.

Handle: Chain as many as you want for length. Turn around and HDC in each chain.

Sew purse up like the Aspen Purse on this blog leaving a fold over flap. Sew on handles on the inside of flaps.

Aspen Purse

Materials:
- Red Heart Aspen Print Yarn or any worsted weight yarn
- Size H Hook
- Yarn Needle
- Closure (Clasp, Hook, Snap, Velcro, etc)

Pattern:
Bag:
Ch 30
Row 1: Hdc in 2nd ch from hook in each stitch across. DO NOT TURN!
Round 1-30: Hdc in each sc around for 30 rounds.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Closing Tab:
Ch 5
Row 1: Sc in each sc across, Ch 1, turn
Row 2-6: Repeat Row 1. Total of 6 Rows.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Using yarn needle, sew tab onto bag halfway between ends. (See Illustration 1)
Sew on Clasp, Hook, Snap, Velcro or any kind of closure you’d like.

Handles:
Ch 60
Row 1: sc in 2nd ch from hook & in each st across. DO NOT TURN!
Round 2: Ch 1, slip st in each st & row-end st around.
Join with a slip stitch in first slip stitch.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
Sew handles with yarn at equals distances from ends of purse.
(See Illustration 2)

New Pattern for a cell phone case w/ handle:

2009-01-26T18:48:00.000-06:00

Materials:

Size F Crochet Hook
Acrylic Yarn (Less than half a skein)
Yarn Needle
Scissors

Pattern:

Bag:
Ch 12
Rows 1-27: Hdc in each ch, ch 1, Turn.
Row 28: 1 dc, *ch 1, 1 dc in 2nd Ch from hook*, repeat from * to end of row.
Rows 29-36: Hdc in each ch, ch 1, Turn.
Row 37: 3 dc in 1st ch from hook, sc in next, repeat to end of row. (Shell Stitch).

Round 1: sc in each st evenly. 3 sc in each corner stitch. Work around 3 sides. (Do not do this to Row 37, the one with the shell stitch).
Fasten Off.
Weave in ends.

Sew sides together with yarn needle or with single crochet leaving top open by the shell stitch.

Handle:
Ch 35
Row 1: Hdc in each ch, ch 1, Turn.
Row 2: Sc in each hdc around entire handle.
Fasten Off.
Weave in ends.

Sew onto the top corner of the bag or across as a handle like a purse.

Put your phone in and enjoy!
